Let me start by saying that the people who I’ve met through this blog are THE BEST! Thanks to Nina for sharing this event information with me.
MoCada (Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts) will be hosting a DIY Festival on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. On display will be handcrafted items by local artists from the Brooklyn, NY area. Not only will there be items for sale, the artists will also hold workshops to demonstrate how they actually created their handcrafted items. There’s an opportunity to support handmade artistry and learn something too!
This festival is a part of a series of exhibitions to be hosted by MoCada entitled, “Pixelating: Black in New Dimensions.” The series explores the identity of African-Americans in the 21st century through the arts.
