If you were wondering, I am still working on my 365 art journaling project. Although it has taken me more than 365 days, I’m still determined to get it done. I’ve started using a second journal that I decorated myself. I used envelopes, junk mail and I even did a couple more mixed media art trading cards this time around.

This one looks sort of like a butterfly to me – one of my favorite things.
I was getting a little bored using my journal, so I decided to play around with an envelope. I’m using it as a home for my art trading cards.
I started my 365 Creative Art Journaling Journey almost one year ago. A year ago, I thought I had so much time to finish. To be honest, I’m not even close to finishing my project! So I decided to tweak my initial project and instead of doing something everyday, I’m now making sure that I complete 365 pages of art journaling. That seems to make more sense at this point .
Here are a few of my most recent pages.
I’m still working on this one.
This will be a mixed media art trading card someday.
The term “mixed media art” is a broad definition that covers many arts and crafts, including collage, assemblage (both 2D and 3D), altered objects, including books and boxes, handmade greeting cards, artist trading cards (ATCs) and tags, art journaling and book making.
The “mixed media” used includes paints, papers and board of all descriptions, glues, buttons, fabrics, found objects, photos, metal bits, fibres, things from nature, inks, pencils, crayons, markers, pastels and polymer clays, to name a few.
The above information was taken from MixedMediaArt.net
I wanted to step away from my usual art journaling pages and do a few mixed media art trading cards (mine are a little smaller than the usual ATC). Basically, I cut out photos and words from magazines and used acrylic paints, crayons, markers, beads, crystal effects and Mod Podge to create these little bite sized cards. The challenge was to create something on a smaller scale. It was easier than I thought. Below are the photos of what I came up with – front and back.
Have you ever tried mixed media art? If so, I would love to see what you’ve created!
